What is SAP PM?
The SAP R/3 Plant
Maintenance (PM) application component provides you with a comprehensive
software solution for all maintenance activities that are performed within a
company. The uniform, graphical user interface is particularly user-friendly
and quickly meets with acceptance, thanks to the numerous possibilities that
are available for tailoring it to meet individual requirements.
The data and
functions of all maintenance procedures performed within a company can be fully
interconnected.
The openness of
the R/3 System enables you to use external systems that are integrated with the
PM component, such as geographical information systems (GIS), computer-aided
design (CAD) systems and supervisory control and data
acquisition
(SCADA) systems. This is a MS Word Doc and the test with answers.

PLM300 - Business Processes in Plant Maintenance
"LO100" · This training course provides an overview of
Plant Maintenance in the larger context of Enterprise Asset Management as part
of the SAP solution portfolio.
· It introduces
the basic business processes of Plant Maintenance, as well as how these are
represented in the SAP system.
Shutdowns,
Turnarounds and Outages;
All of the major
process industries (refining, petrochemicals, power generation, pulp &
paper, etc.) have their own nomenclature for maintenance projects. For the
purposes of this document, "turnaround" is intended to encompass all
types of industrial projects for existing process plants including:
- I&Ts (Inspection & Testing)
- shutdowns , emergency outages
- debottlenecking projects
- revamps
- catalyst regeneration
etc. Oracle User
Productivity Kit, or UPK, is a collaborative development environment for
creating: interactive simulations and assessments, in-application performance
support, classroom and web-based training materials, manual test scripts/cases,
instructional web sites, and custom document outputs. All content is created
and maintained using a single-source repository which means that content is
created once and published to all available outputs described above. When
content is updated it only needs to be updated once for the change to be reflected
in all of the published outputs.

Afinion Project
Viewer 5.0 supports all currently used MS Project versions
(Project 98, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2007 in a database or mpp file) simultaneously.
Shows also plans from Excel and SAP R/3 PS. Filters for most used
selections are available and autofilters. Time recording with no
installation included. Project Manager has full control over the time recording
process and each Project Manager can decide independently if resources can
report on a task or not. In MS Project you can see
planned and recorded hours of the resources. Our Project-Viewer is running on
Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, Solaris and Unix. Logo integration is available. It
can store all activities which are assigned to a resource directly into the
Outlook task folder of the resource. It uses the common database versions
(SQL-Server und MS Access) used for MS Project. The
Project-Viewer shows two different views: View of the whole project or a
collection of all tasks where you are assigned to as a resource. Afinion Project-Viewer shows
all activities of an employee over all projects in database. So the employee
can see immediately, where he is assigned to. Afinion Project-Viewer can print
the plan in the formats A4 to A0, only limited by the available plotters and
printers. In our Project-Viewer you can define the timescale in a free manner,
so you can view the tasks in a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly base. Afinion
Project-Viewer enables the user to choose the columns according to his
individual needs. Afinion Project-Viewer is easy to install. Also novice users
have no problems and only few effort to see their tasks. Afinion Project-Viewer is
also able to run in a server mode. In this case the individual settings are
stored for each employee. Standard languages English, Italian, Netherlands,
French, German, Spanish, Chinese. The SAP part uses SAMI 2.1 the
certified interface for
SAP-PS. APV runs as a program or as a service defined during installation. Menu
can be customised by administrator.
